Obsession Notes: Welcome
Tiny essays from the edge of a very curated life.
Hi. You’ve found Obsession Notes - essays on aesthetics, avoidance, and the art of appearing fine.
I won’t be giving advice here. I’m not qualified. What I will give you are notes on beauty, burnout, emotional rebrands, £42 candles, near-delusional confidence, and everything I’m currently obsessed with (which is either deeply aesthetic or deeply unhinged, no in-between).
Think of this as:
A scrapbook for beautiful distractions
A running monologue from the girl at brunch who drinks champagne before noon and says things like “He’s not mysterious, he just doesn’t like you”
A collection of things keeping me fractionally intact
What to Expect
Outfits I’d wear to my own nervous breakdown
Things I romanticise so I don’t explode
Micro-epiphanies disguised as skincare reviews
Emotional weather reports from someone trying to heal, but glamorously.
I believe in dramatic silence, chilled wine, and applying lipliner as an act of resistance. I also believe the worst decisions make the best stories - so I write them down.
You won’t always learn how to be better here, but you will see how I try…again…and again. But you might feel less weird about how you’re already coping.
Subscribe if:
You’re in your ‘expensive perfume and no contact’ era
You’ve ever cried in a hotel bath but still looked cool
You want something to read that doesn’t feel like a TED Talk or an amazon ad
Unsubscribe if:
You think I need to “talk to someone about that”
You don’t understand why a woman would spend £200 on a robe she only wears to ignore emails
I’ll be sending something soon. Until then, romanticise responsibly.
x
K.
